Purchasing, Shipping, and Taxation
This page provides basic information about our purchasing, shipping, and taxation policies. If your question is not answered here, then contact Internetpress.
For Your Purchase to Be Accepted
In order for Internetpress to accept your purchase, your postal [street] address must be verified by PayPal and your address must be located in a country where Internetpress is able to make deliveries. Here are the details.
You Must Have a Verified Postal Address
Using PayPal to make a purchase requires that you have a PayPal account. Furthermore, you must have a postal address which has been verified (or confirmed) by PayPal. If PayPal does not have your verified postal address, then PayPal will not allow you to make a purchase. That is because Internetpress has restricted purchases to accounts which only have a verified postal [street] address. There are three ways to get your address verified with PayPal.
- Add a credit card to your PayPal account. PayPal will cross-check your credit card billing address with your credit card company’s records, and if they match the postal [street] address which you entered in your PayPal account, then your street address will be automatically verified.
- Apply and be approved for a PayPal Plus Credit Card, PayPal Buyer Credit, or an eBay MasterCard. If approved, the address on your application will be a confirmed address.
- Alternate address verification. This process is available only for U.S. PayPal accounts, and it can take several days because it involves contacting PayPal Support and sending specific types of documents to PayPal.
If your postal [street] address is verified (or confirmed), then on the Transaction Details page of your PayPal account, the “address status” will appear as Confirmed on payment receipts.
Countries where Internetpress can Make Deliveries
Internetpress uses the United States Postal Service (USPS) for making domestic deliveries. For international deliveries, the USPS will deliver your package to your country’s postal system, who then delivers your package to your verified postal [street] address.
If your address is located in a state or territory which belongs to the United States of America, then Internetpress can deliver a package to your address.
If your address is located in a country which the United States Federal Government does not allow the USPS to make deliveries, then Internetpress cannot deliver a package to your address.
If your address is located in a country where an event is preventing your postal system to make deliveries, then Internetpress cannot deliver a package to your address. For example, a postal strike, a natural disaster, and war are such types of events.
And finally, PayPal will not accept a purchase from a country which Internetpress has not yet entered your country into its PayPay shipping tables. During a purchase, those tables work behind the scenes to provide you a way to select a shipping method and cost for delivery to your country. Without that information, a purchase cannot be made. If you would like to make a purchase, but live in a country which is not served, then ask Internetpress to add your country to their shipping tables.
If you have a verified postal address, but PayPal will not accept your purchase, it is probably because Internetpress has not yet supplied your country’s postage information to PayPal; in that case, contact Internetpress with a request to update PayPal with the postage to your country.
Purchase Limits
If your verified postal [street] address is located in one of the United States of America or its territories, you may order up to twenty (20) books through a single purchase. Domestic educational institutions are eligible for a 20% discount when purchasing ten (10) or more books through a single purchase.
If your verified postal [street] address is located outside of the United States of America and you are an individual, then you are restricted to ordering (1) book through a single purchase.
If your verified postal [street] address is located outside of the United States of America and you are an educational institution, you are restricted to ordering (20) books through a single purchase. International educational institutions are eligible for a 20% discount when purchasing ten (10) or more books through a single purchase.
Shipping and Taxes
Internetpress is located in California, USA. We use the United States Postal Service (USPS) for domestic and international shipping. If the package is shipped internationally, the USPS delivers the package to your country’s postal system, who then handles the delivery to your address.
The USPS is typically in possession of your package within 24 hours after your purchase. If your purchase is made during a weekend or holiday, expect a 2 to 3 day delay.
After the USPS is in possession of your package, Internetpress will notify you through the e-mail address you supplied to PayPal that your package is on its way. Notification is typically made within 24 hours, unless your purchase was made during a weekend or holiday.

The postage for a package of 1 to 2 books is typically about $10.40. The postage for a package of 3 to 8 books is typically $17.05. The postage for 9 to 20 books is typically about $20.95.
Domestic shipping includes USPS Tracking, but it may also include Signature Confirmation on delivery.
Purchases made from Californian addresses will be charged the current state sales tax.
Domestic purchases made from outside of California, will not be charged a sales tax.

All shipping to Canada includes either Return Receipt or Electronic USPS Delivery Confirmation International Service (E-USPS DELCON INTL) for international proof of mailing and delivery.
A sales tax, or what in Canada is called Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Harmonized Sales Tax (HST), is not charged to Canadian purchases because Internetpress is defined as a small business by Canadian tax regulations, and we typically remain below the Canadian Revenue threshold.
European Union (EU) Destinations

All shipping to the EU includes either Return Receipt or Electronic USPS Delivery Confirmation International Service (E-USPS DELCON INTL) for international proof of mailing and delivery.
A sales tax, or what in the EU is called a Value Added Tax (VAT), is not charged to EU purchases because Paragraph 9 of schedule 2, “Zero-Rated Goods and Services,” of the VAT Consolidation Act 2010 (VATCA 2010) states that books are a zero rated good.
